I am a composer available for hire and commissions, creating music that sits within a neo-classical crossover style. My work is characterised by delicate textures, emotional depth, and an ethereal atmosphere, often blending contemporary classical writing with modern production elements.
I have composed music for audio drama and feature-length documentary, with previous work broadcast on BBC Scotland. I enjoy collaborating closely with directors, producers, and storytellers to craft music that enhances narrative, mood, and emotional impact.
I am open to commissions for film, documentary, audio drama, and other creative projects.
Giving It All To Art is an intimate portrait of figurative artist Greer Ralston as she prepares to dedicate her life solely to her art.
Creating the music for Giving It All To Art began with stillness. As the music composer for the documentary, I sat on the land, letting myself feel grounded and present, allowing the environment to slow me down. In that quiet, I absorbed the landscape—the textures, the openness, and the patience it takes for anything meaningful to take shape. The land became a collaborator, offering a sense of steadiness and time that guided the rhythm of the music.
As I observed the portraits, I paid close attention to the emotions held within the people—both what was visible and what lingered beneath the surface. I listened to their expressions, their vulnerability, and their commitment to creation. Using my piano and vocals, I transmuted the space—allowing sound to move through the environment and transform emotion into melody, tone, and atmosphere rather than imposing it.
The process mirrored the act of making art itself: slow, attentive, and deeply passionate. By connecting the patience of the landscape with the emotional intensity of the artists, the music became a bridge between place, people, and purpose. It reflects the devotion it takes to give everything to art—grounded, honest, and driven by a quiet but powerful passion.
