As I am sure you are all aware the Covid-19 pandemic has ground the world to a massive halt! The wedding industry is currently on hold until restrictions are lifted on public gatherings. The last Wedding I shot was on the 18th of March at Lancaster Town Hall. The lockdown was then enforced the week after putting a stop to weddings.
It was Lancaster Town Halls final wedding before closing its doors until further notice. Lauren and Gary were due to get wed on the 21st of March but decided this was too risky and brought the date forward. They cut the guest list down to a very small intimate crowd. Their main wedding reception would almost certainly have to be cancelled by the weekend. To keep everyone safe Lauren and Gary sensibly cancelled the wedding reception. Good news though as they are planning to have a wedding reception next year instead . By then I think things will have calmed down and hopefully be back to normal. I am looking forward to capturing part 2 in 2021.

Lancashire Wedding Ceremony
Lauren and Gary made the right call in bringing the ceremony forward and restricting numbers. I am so glad I got to capture part of their day. So many guests obviously couldn’t be there so being able to share their intimate wedding ceremony was a real Joy for Gary and Lauren. The Lancaster Town Hall Wedding attracted quite a bit of press too and has subsequently been featured in Hello Magazine and the Guardian.
Lauren & Gary rang me after watching their film and they were so happy! I loved hearing how they had been watching their family watch the film link via Skype and iPads. Lauren said it was very emotional and so important to share these moments right now. Here’s what she said in her review on Facebook:
“We were more than impressed with the video she put together, too – and since most of our guests couldn’t make it to our day (due to us scaling it down massively and bringing it forward, as a result of coronavirus), it meant many of those closest to us could still watch our vows.
We will be forever grateful to Jo that she managed to record and beautifully edit the entire service – and then some.
She’s right when she says on her site that you won’t notice she’s there, either; she’s so discreet but still manages to capture all the action. There were, of course, so many unseen bits too – I loved watching my bridesmaids and page boys walk down the aisle and it was genuinely lovely to relive a few moments that were a bit hazy with all the excitement.
